My Background
I am currently completing my professional teacher training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). I have maintained a personal mindfulness practice since 2013.
I believe mindfulness is most valuable when it helps us engage more fully with ordinary life, relationships, work, and the challenges we all face.
Having drawn so much support from my own mindfulness practice in demanding professional environments, I decided to train as a mindfulness teacher not to step away from pressure, but to help myself and others find a better way through it.
My Teaching Style
My style is calm, clear, and grounded, not vague or abstract. I’ll explain why we do each practice and back it with evidence. The pace is gentle, steady, and meets you where you are, not where a workbook thinks you should be.

A gift I gave myself during a difficult time
Shelley
What John gave me was something I didn’t realise I was missing: the ability to find stillness, even when life around me isn’t still… Looking back, I realise the MBSR course was a gift I gave myself during a very difficult time… I am incredibly grateful to John for his calm, thoughtful and compassionate guidance. What started as a course I knew very little about has become part of how I choose to live my life.
Genuinely insightful
Sarah
Learning to practise self-compassion — something I’d always struggled with — was genuinely insightful… John was a compassionate, gentle, knowledgeable and encouraging leader, never forcing anyone to share, and taking the time to make the whole group feel valued and heard.
Engaging and kind

John is a brilliant trainer and facilitator… very engaging and kind, recognising individuals’ needs, listening and asking questions. The workshop was great in terms of learning strategies and tools which were easy to put into practice.
